2008

Conference in the Cornfield 3

Each year we prepare earlier, but nothing prepares us for the energy of those who walk through the door. From those who have never been to any type of BDSM gathering to those who have run their own, the event was welcomed.

Our presenters: Zarius and Talina from Indy and Mistress Thorny Rose from Chicago put on classes that had everyone intrigued. We walked away with more knowledge and technical skills than we had before.

The staff: Elita, Tina, Q's precious, bek, and Duckie kept the day moving along. Without them I'd still be looking for tacks.

Dinner was a great time for us to get together, meet new people, relax from the day, and feel free to be ourselves. Some opened up for the first time because they finally felt at home with their kink. It's always a good thing to realize that you are not alone in the lifestyle.

Bring in the New Year

A premature celebration/service auction

December 30, 2007

It started with a great dinner and as the night went on the energy got bigger and better.

The bar was all ours. As everyone drank responsibly, we mingled, ate, and reviewed the list of auction items.

It didn't take Auctioneer Jim long to warm up the crowd and get the bids flying. He did an amazing job! From art and photo works to fantastic foods to needles and ropes. Everything that went up came down to a price. SOLD was the word we wanted to hear .. and we did.

People opened up their checkbooks and wallets and dug deep in their pockets. The local no kill animal shelter was the real winner. The money, according to the owner, was used to help in the purchase of a new vehicle and to aid in the building fund.

We also won. Being able to be so open in a (closed) public place can be liberating. Kink was all around!

Thanks to Auctioneer Jim, Mama, Elita, bek and duck, and lastly, everyone who attended.

Age and Puppyplay Demo and Discussion

September 29, 2007

It just keeps getting better and better!

The day was perfect. People arrived excited and hungry for food, fellowship, and a bit of freakiness.

The puppy Fifi was decked out in her footie pajamas looking like the little girl she loves to emulate. We spoke about triggers, limits, and she shared what this type of play means to her.

Later on she donned the kneepads and got down and dirty. Her stories of being the 'bitch' in a circle and dominating was interesting and entertaining. Overall, we learned that expressing ourselves is a wonderful outlet. Being safe and accepting each other as we do this allows us to be free in this lifestyle. Free from judgment, and free to live.

Following the discussion we feasted - big time! The chefs were on the grill creating meat masterpieces, while the efforts of the kitchen wenches had us moving in and out with no problems.

Many thanks for our staff:

Presenter - The puppy Fifi

Chefs - Canis Lupis and Q's precious

Kitchen Wenches - noelle, Elita, and Tina

Conference in the Cornfield - Take 2

June 30, 2007

Another day for the history books!

As a coordinator of such an event you never know what the day will bring until it happens. So when I arrived at the hotel in my pajamas and saw the staff already handling the preparation I knew it was going to be ok. When registration opened at 8 am, there was already a line forming. It just got better from there.

The presenters that shared with us this year gave us outstanding classes. There is so much knowledge and we appreciated them passing some of that on to us. Some of the classes made us laugh, cry, and look deep into ourselves for some of the answers that we ask others.

The sharing continued over dinner and later on into the hands-on portion of the evening.

Thanks goes out to:

the presenters: Sir Wallter, Millarca, femcar, and shawnee

the staff: Frederick, pammy, katie, and duckie

the vendors: Marvin and Sarah from Daddy's Leather Shop ( www.DaddysLeatherShop.com ), and Bekime from Baby Girls Boutique( < /font> www.babygirlsboutique.com ).

the attendees: (insert your name here if you were there)

Conference in the Cornfield

Saturday - July 29, 2006

Almost 40 people came together for Conference in the Cornfield. The morning was busy as the crew stuffed folders, checked T shirts, made signs, attached corn stalks to the Jeep, and just got caught up in the excitement of the day.

The classes were well received and informative. Dinner was downright good. The evenings activities included a bit of show and tell; some whip snapping; pressure pointing; and rope tying.

As the evening came to an end, many helped load up vehicles and get the room back to its vanilla form. Some attendees went home rejuvenated, others a bit tired, but all left glad that they were a part of central Illinois history.

Thanks to:

  • the presenters - Sir Wallter, Lady Isis, and shawnee
  • the staff - Frederick, pammy, katie, and duckie

Kinky Cookout and Pony Play Demo

Saturday - September 30, 2006

Another perfect day for a leather event! We were fortunate to have Alicia and ponyboylancelot travel to central Illinois for this presentation.

We learned about this form of leather expression. There was a lot to see and even more to experience. As the inside teachings came to a close, we traveled outside for a more hands on approach. Many took turns both inside and outside of the cart.

As some lingered outside, the grill got fired up. In addition to the brats and burgers, there was a ton of delicious food brought by the attendees. We ate and ate, took a break, then ate some more. Glad the rides in the cart came before the food or no one would have gone anywhere.

To work off some of those pounds we laughed until some cried. Tops versus bottoms in a serious game of Taboo. Who knew that game was so kinky?

We bid farewell to each other and literally drove off into the sunset.
